After reading lots of threads and links I have decided to go with B Quiet for my truck. Heat and sound properties are very close to Dynamat but much less $$$. I called and they say I will need about 100 sq. feet but that seems high. How much material have you all used in your trucks. Thanks.

I use about 100 square feet. The insulation that I do includes the firewall, floor, wall behind the tank and the tank.

You can measure your cab and decide whether you want to do less but I suspect that 100 square feet will not leave much scrap.

I also used 100 sq ft of B-quiet for my truck. I covered all of the floor, wall behind tank, kick panels, the angled part of the firewall and the curved areas where the jack would sit and the other side where the gas tank filler tube goes through. Very nice stuff, but word of caution, be sure to repair/paint everything first, once you put this stuff down, it WILL NOT come off. I actually need to buy more for my doors, I didn't have anything left over. I used it all!

Would you be interested in a spray form of sound deadener. It's cheaper than than the b-quiet. probably half the cost and you can tint it to match the color of your truck. if you want to. PM me if interested.

Thanks for the offer. But...I want sound deadner plus a heat insulater. This material seems to be the best bang for the buck from what I can read.

you will need more than 100 if you cover everything. Make sure to do it in the order they say. The doors seamed to make the most difference to me though, maybe not as much when driving but when closing them, they sounded great.

Thanks all...I have placed the order. If you take care of the pennies the dollars will take care of themselves. I agree $27 doesn't sound like a lot but it all adds up.

Tip for you... when I used dynamat in my bb truck I cut strips and before istalling the cargo lamp and dome lamp, placed strips along the inside of the roof in the hollow portion between the two lights. I also placed it on the door just below the latches as well as the inside of the outer skin and inside of inner skin. I did not coat everything just used squares of material stratigically placed and the doors and cab are very solid sounding vs stock.
