Harness Bar
Has anyone ever made or installed a harness bar behind the seat? I removed the stock tank, but am keeping the bench seat for now. I am looking for a secure way to mount up two 5 point harnesses.

Re: Harness Bar
if it's not got to be nhra legal you can weld a 5"x5" plate with a tab on it to the inner cab panel below the window on each side and hook your shoulder harnesses to it. the one above looks nice and neet. top tank mounts should be more than strong enough too. Very Nice 383 Stroker

Re: Harness Bar
Cool idea thanks 383 stroker. I didn't know those would be strong enough.

Re: Harness Bar
383 did you ever have a problem with Tech at the track with the belts mounted there.I was looking at doing the same thing but wasn't sure if they would pass it.Just looking at the rule book looks like it would be down lower than the 4 inch requirement of the shoulder harness

Re: Harness Bar
Before I had a cage in my truck I just ran the shoulder harness all the way to the floor . It should pass tech fine as long as you use good hardware including some large od washers to strengthen it . As far as the lap belts go I still use the factory mounts with grade 8 bolts and washers .
