introducing myself... and my truck!

hey guys thought i'd introduce myself and "silver". grandfather bought her new and DD her for 10 years sold her to my dad who DD her and finally sold her to me 5 years ago. i was brought home from the hospital when i was born in this truck. means alot to me... started disassembly for a frame off and ls 5.3 transplant last week. this is an awesome forum! enjoy...

wow what a warm welcome from everyone! thank you!! ill send you a pm. as far as the motor and trans i'm not sure yet. its a 350/350 combo and i still have the reciepts from mike daughtry chevrolet from when my dad had it replaced in '91. its got all new bolt ons... from carb, intake, smog legal shorties. we'll see.

hey nice looking truck. Being from california myself, how are you going to deal with the smog issues when you do the engine transplant? i would like to upgrade the tired original 305 in my 84swb but worry about the smog since it does pass as it is.

Nice looking truck. Looks you have a plan and it has history which makes it a great project. I like the GTO as well, is it yours?

as far as the slots and color they are staying the same. that original burgundy color is beautiful. and i want the truck to look the same as when my grandpa had it. he put the slots on and lowered the rear the 1st week he had it back in the day. everything else is going to be modern day GM underneath!

i have alot of ?'s since this is my 1st build and i'll be asking them! you guys are great, dennis

thank you... yes i striped the paint off. it was a yellow stripe w/ black underneath. god, that had to be more than 15 years ago! LOL
