? for those who have replaced their gas tank
On the old tank there are what appear to be spacers that sit on the top flanges of the tank.. They have rubber between them and the tank and rest against the frame. Is that correct? Anyway if thats what they are. I have missed placed one. Can I use any piece of flat metal Or do I eliminate them. What to truck guys do when they relocate the tank
Thanks for your help |

Re: ? for those who have replaced their gas tank
I don't recall having rubber spacers on mine...I say just make both sides mount the same and run it. As long as it's secure yer good!

Re: ? for those who have replaced their gas tank
My blazer had both of the metal spacers and the rubber as you described. The rubber looked like someone, at the factory, used cut up inner tube for this rubber piece and I do believe that they were only there for squeak reduction. I was able to use the originals when I put it back togather and reinforced them with... cut up parts of an inner tube! As far as going without the metal spacer, I don't know for sure but I would not know what would be wrong with that...

Re: ? for those who have replaced their gas tank
I would cut a piece of rubber and replace it. Mine are still there. I'm sure it was for noise reduction and to reduce the chance of rubbing a whole in the tank.
