Shifter Handlle Question
I have a tilt column ('72) and I have added a Camaro style steering wheel. My shifter handle seems like its way out there. Is there any other options for a shorter shifter handle that would work? Thanks for the help.

Re: Shifter Handlle Question
i'm not sure .i have a 4 spoke camaro as well in my 70, some years ago i installed a late 70's van tilt and it has a much nicer shorter arm , i'm not sure if they will work in an older column

Re: Shifter Handlle Question
Could you shorten it up and rethread the end?

Re: Shifter Handlle Question
Use a shifter from a van tilt. They are shorter, and work perfectly with a smaller steering wheel.

Re: Shifter Handlle Question
you can use a gm car shifter from the 70's and mayby as late as a 1990 caprice car. use a punch and bump the pin up and pull the shift lever out. you may want to grab the spring also.

Re: Shifter Handlle Question
Thanks for all the input. This is the type of lever I need. As you can see, this one is almost completely trashed!! I'm having a difficult time locating a van shifter (I think it would look best with my smaller camaro steering wheel). Will I'll need to go to a GM parts counter? Does anyone have any other suggestions??
Thanks for the help!!

Re: Shifter Handlle Question
Check out the Jeeps in the junkyard as well. They used alot of the same parts.
