Re: someones bad day
I'd just chop the top off and make a convertible out of it.

Re: someones bad day
Actually, it looks to have been a fortunate event...doesn't look like it damaged too much beyond the cab.
Get a cab, a little work, and he's back in business!!

Re: someones bad day
Well I guess I will Make my first Post I have been Lurking around for Awhile now Love this forum I have been a 67-72 fan since I got my first truck when I was 15 Many moons ago. anyway enough about myself. I see that truck every time I go to my folks place. The truck is in Boring Or, The guy rolled the truck some time ago it has been sitting in that spot for at least six months. Really nice clean 72 GMC or was I should say. I went past it a few weeks ago and he had a new cab sitting on a trailer so I'm guessing she will be on the road once again. Once again this is the best fourm going

And second let me say that these guys LOVE pics! Do an introduce yourself in the welcome area! Now, back to the OP...it could easily be a rollover, especially if a tree, stopped him from going all the way over. A friend of mine had a 78 Ford and rolled it, and the only damage was to the cab, which was crushed, because a snow bank absorbed the impact to the bed and front clip...the rock that the cab landed on wasn't so friendly Either way, it's a shame! Glad to hear he seems to have parts to fix her up

Re: someones bad day
I just saw that truck the other day! I stopped and looked at that truck on Saturday - the bed has a good sized dent on the driver side above the tailight - you can just see it at the top far right of that pic - I was impressed with how straight the bed still was. it does look like roll damage to me rather than a -tree.
I called the tavern it is sitting behind to inquire if it was for sale, but the tavern owner said the guy that owns it is collecting parts to rebuild. Didn't realize there was this many local people on here.

Re: someones bad day
I think I would replace the top only, assuming the bottom 1/3 is rust free. but then again I have 2 spare cab tops to play with.
