LT1 Q's
OK, so the LT1 is built and sitting in my chassis now. My question is, can I block off the two coolant ports on the rear of the cylinder heads or is this vital? The line ran to the throttle body from the rear of the heads. Thanks

Thanks brother. Also, does anyone know if the 73 and newer mounts and engine stands will bolt to my 72 frame. I think those mounts look alot stronger and would keep engine in place even if the rubber failed.

Yes, the '73+ mounts will bolt to it, but since they stand about an inch taller on the top of the frame rail, I had to use 1" bar stock to "raise" the frame at that point.

The only purpose of that coolant is to keep the throttle body from freezing, so unless you live in -20F land, no reason for it.

Yes, but that is not the only purpose for those lines. The coolant crossover is supposed to allow air pockets that form in the heads a place to escape so they don't cause hot spots. You can obviously block them off if you want, but why, they are only helping. If you keep them you can also just run the tube straight to the radiator, it doesn't have to go to the TB. If you don't have the crossover tube you can get the seals and make your own for cheap. A lot of people use braided line so it's flexible and makes it easier to remove the head(s) without crimping or bending like the hardline will.
