Re: what rearend do i have?

jd. Only 2 ways to tell. one is try to get the numbers off the top of the right hand axel tube and take them to or call a dealer parts dept. Second, pull the cover off the rear end, rotate the ring gear and look for a series of numbers. There will be a series of 4 numbers seperated by a ":". Example 15:42 ect. OK, now divide the 42 by 15 and thats your ratio. Jim

The worst thing you could do is get into my sights, but that don't matter, you'll never know it, cause you'll never hear the shotJim or Paladin whichever you choose.

Re: what rearend do i have?

Mine has a RPO sticker in the glove box. It says the ratio with all of the other options.

Re: what rearend do i have?

On the RPO Sticker in the glove box you need to find the codes that begin with the letter "G".

GU4 3:08 Ratio

GU6 3:42 Ratio

GT4 3:73 Ratio

If you have the "G80" code as well then you have positraction on the truck.

Re: what rearend do i have?

count the teeth on the ring gear and divide that by the number of teeth on the pinion gear. thats a sure fire way of KNOWING what gear ratio you have.............
