Let's See 'Em: Rally Stripes
Okay, I searched, but I could not find any posts with rally stripes. I know they were common 67-69 Camaros, and I'm sure someone has put them on our trucks.

Re: Let's See 'Em: Rally Stripes
I have the same cowl hood. I like the look. I have a stepside, so I think I might have to change tailgates for the stripes to look right. Right now, I have the embossed bowtie tailgate.

Re: Let's See 'Em: Rally Stripes
Here's one of mine that I had years ago. Sorry for the quality of the pic. I didn't do the stripes, they were already on there when I bought it.

If he took the up and down bar out of the grill it would look kind of like a Chevelle. Good looking chop top too.

Re: Let's See 'Em: Rally Stripes
Yeah, maybe a '69. The roof looks just like an earlier (maybe '66) model El Camino the way its chopped

Re: Let's See 'Em: Rally Stripes
I like the style on eightbanger's hood. I have the exact same cowl hood on my 69.
Here are a couple of ideas I am working for the bowtie embossed step gate on my truck...I just have MS paint (no photoshop). Which do you guys think looks best?

4tires,
Where in Oki are you? I spent 6 months on Schwab and then later spent 3 years on Camp Hansen, living on Camp Courtney part of the time. |

Re: Let's See 'Em: Rally Stripes
I wouldn`t put them on the yailgate. If you must, they`d want to be the same as the hood. But,the outlines are best on the first version.

Re: Let's See 'Em: Rally Stripes
I'm thinking maybe I will do away with the Bowtie embossed tailgate and go back to the original style. I would not put rally stripes on an original gate. rather, I'd just use the silver (color of stripe) for the lettering.

Re: Let's See 'Em: Rally Stripes
i think the reason it looks bad on the 'gate is because the stripes arent carried completly over the cab...if you could see them come over the roof, then to the top of the window, and then continue down the back of the cab...the tailgate stripes wouldn't look so out-of-place..
