white haze around windshield?
Maybe a dumb question but I can't figure out what this white haze is around the windshield. It appears as if its between the glass but I'm not sure. Any of you have experience with this? Any remedy to get rid of it short of buying a new windshield?

Re: white haze around windshield?
I have the same problem on the '68 CST, and have been told that it's just the glue finally drying up after all of these years.
We're probably both going to have to buy new windshields . Quote:

It is the layers of glass and silicone seperating.
You need new glass...as do I. |

JVic: Whoop! You think you could talk Slocum into coming up here now that we let our coach head down to your general neck of the woods?
Sorry, I know its off the topic, but you gotta love them Fightin' Texas Aggies.

My 70 CST had it and i lived with it, it was like frost around the perameter of the windshield but somewhat uniformed.

Anyone who is familiar with CJ Jeeps, you know this problem all too well. I'm not sure if the windows in our trucks are tempered but I thought so. I thought that it was because of this little fact, the plastic/silicone they put in the window dries after so long and turns hazy.

Air, if you want to call it that, gets into the laminating material, between the two pieces of glass that form the windshield, or any other glass in a vehicle. Some glass seems to be more prone to this happening, i.e., in a hot, dry climate.
They're doing so much construction on the interstates in Arkansas, you wouldn't have to wait long to get "rocked". I traded off two vehicles, both with a chip in the windshield, for one that has a chip. I figure to wait until they're finished in a couple of years, to replace it (unless it gets worse). Then, that's why I have "0" deductible on my comprehensive insurance, even on my '69. It is too cheap, not to have it.
