pictures of my 72
I picked up this 72 for $2500 with the camper shell. I knew it had some rust under the floor mat but found out that its has a big rust problem under the front window seal on the drivers side pillar.
anyway I hope you all enjoy. Last edited by tekno62; 02-20-2009 at 11:40 PM. |

Re: pictures of my 72
You made a heck of a deal for $2500! Even w/the rust that you've found, it's still a good buy.
Make the repairs and enjoy! Greg |

Re: pictures of my 72
Nice truck. How bad is the rust problem?
The only thing bad is the Ochre color, (aka baby sh*t brown) Don't know why GM had a color blind person pick their colors back in the 60s and 70s. And Yes, my truck is also Ochre, (Ochre and white).

Re: pictures of my 72
So ture - god its a common color where I live. the truck was build in the area ( Fremont ) so I think chevy dumped this color on the local area because it would not sell anywhere else.

Re: pictures of my 72
Great looking truck!!!! I have not seen one yet that didnt have a "major rust problem" somewhere. Pull the windshield, treat the rust, seal it, drive the heck out of it and enjoy it!!!

Re: pictures of my 72
yep leaks aroung the windshield and in the upper cowl are pretty common.
check the cowl just to make doubly sure that its not leaking there. and if it is just the windshield, dont worry, thats why there are drain holes in the top of the dash. lol (just kidding)

Re: pictures of my 72
Even if the cab is not repairable (which it proabably is) you are in an area where you should be able to find one, so don't bum on it too much. IMO, it's a really nice looking truck - a great start.

Re: pictures of my 72
windshield can come out in five minutes and go back in in about 15 minutes so they are easy to replace
