blazer top measurements?

I did a quick search and came up empty handed...
Does anyone have the total length of a top? From the cowl to the tip of the gate?
Also, I think I remember seeing someone making a jig to hang one from the rafters? Anyone have a link?
Last one.... how about weight of a single wall top?

Do you want the length of the top or from the cowl to the gate. the cowl to the gate measurement will be a longer because the windshield is raked back a bit. I can get this info for you when I get off work.

Re: blazer top measurements?

I'm going to guess with Hatch, Glass, and all about 250lbs?

2 people can remove one, it's more awkward than heavy.

Re: blazer top measurements?

Andy, actually both the single and double wall tops are--double thick and weigh about the same---around 250-300lbs. They are a ***** to install or remove even with two strong guys. I suspended mine from the floor joists in the roof of my garage---on 4 light chains going through 2 2/6 boards--drill a hole through each end and pin the chain to support the top. One board goes about 24" from the rear and the other goes above the door windows as far back as you can get it. That is a good balance. Do not store it on it's leading or trailing edges--you will get breakage. Call me if you need additional info---Huck

Re: blazer top measurements?

Ha! He's probably getting a Jimmy!

Or, he's gonna get a Blazer and install 1ton axles and call it a "K7.5" or something like that.

Or, he's gonna make a removeable top for the burb...

Or maybe he is just gonna buck the system and call it a C5...even though they weren't called that.

Or maybe he found a nice single wall and he's gonna invest in it because it would be a better move than a savings account at the moment.

Or maybe...

Re: blazer top measurements?

technicly, a 2 wheel drive blazer IS a C/5... if you go by that system you refered to... then all the ppl calling there 4X4 trucks K/10 or K/20 are wrong. They may have never been badged as a C/5... but they are CE/CS designated trucks on the VIN and model number.
So are the blazer guys wrong for not going by the C/K designations... or are the truck guys wrong? (I'm sure I can find GM documentation somewhere on all this too.... )
