Transfer case comparison
I have a 70 Blazer I'm thinking of replacing the TH350 with a 700R4. The person who has the transmission also has 208c and 241c transfer cases.
What are the differences between these? How do they compare size wise to a 205 transfer case? Would it be easier to replace the existing 205 with one over the other? I'm trying to decide if its worth switching to OD. If I do I have another vehicle I'll use the TH350/NP205 combo in. |

Re: Transfer case comparison
It would be easiest to use one o the later transfer cases. The original 205 would need adapting.I`d go with the 241 out of the later cases. They are all compatible in size.It won`t be an issue.
What size tires are you running? And,what gear ratio?

Re: Transfer case comparison
It has 31" tires. Currently it has 3.07 gears, They guy with the parts has 3.42 axles that came out of a 89 Suburban along with the transmission that I'll get also. I think that combo should work pretty well for me. The Blazer is mainly used for highway driving and pulling a trailer every once in a while.

Re: Transfer case comparison
Yes, the 241 is a good case. it is stronger than the 208, it uses a magnisium case insted of aluminim and has a syncro from 2wd ti 4 hi for shift on the fly....
