64 lwb frame

Alright I'm trying to figure out how much room is behind the rear end on a long bed. I would like to put a blazer tank and my air tank if I can behind it. Can someone tell me the size in Inchs' behind it. The air tank I'm using is a 8 Gallon 8 port. Specs:
Length - 32"
Diameter - 9.5"
Height with legs - 11.5"

I dont have the truck in front of me since I'm in Iraq right now. I'm wanting to order the blazer tank before I get home in a week. thanks for the help!

Re: 64 lwb frame

Thanks Jason. I've been following your thread, and the truck is looking good! I was just too lazy to look it up for myself, and my internet is really slow.

Re: 64 lwb frame

That air tank should fit between the frame rails. I think you may have to screw with some stuff but you should be able to wedge it all in. Its a little different than a pick-up....but here it is. On the right you can just see the corner of the gas tank. Its tite, but it fits. If you can hang your valves off the tank it will take less space, I made a rack for my valves.

Re: 64 lwb frame

Protrash how low does your tank hang from the bottom part of the rails? I will be laying frame so putting it ontop of the frame is no problem, my valves are either gonna be on the tank or close to the bag? does the front of your drop pretty quick with the valves being that far? I'll be using 3/8 to drop and 1/2 fill.

Re: 64 lwb frame

I didnt exactly spit it out in my original post, but you're looking at a 'burb. Gives you an idea of whats up anyway.

The tank hangs down about 5". I have 1/2" line and the whole truck drops like a rock; I have to be careful. The front fills quickly once I have good pressure and the hose is filled. I would use 3/8's if I did it over. I used pipe plugs on the exhaust side of the valves and drilled a 3/16ths hole in them and Im glad I didnt do the holes any larger.

I would suggest mounting the valves to the tank if you have a bunch of ports, it may save you some fittings which are expensive. There are enough things to nickel and dime you on these set-ups.
