Zoomie exhaust on 235 engine .

I am currently building a hot rod out of a 1947 IHC KB8 truck cab on a 1965 Chevy 1/2 ton stepside . I am keeping the stepside & 235 c.i. engine . I am planning on upgrading to either a 400R or 700R4 trans . My main question is about an idea for a custom exhaust . I want to build zoomie pipes with individual baffles . Anyone ever attempt this , if so how well did it work ? Just wondering about driveability , power & any issues with intake system .
