Bed Mounting Pads
When I painted my bed last year I noticed that there were no rubber pads between the frame and the bed. I know I can purchase them but plan on making them myself.
My question is what size are they? How thick of rubber should I use? I believe they are 3/8" bolts?

My 69 LWB definitely came from the factory W/O pads.

They came from the factory without. However some people elect to put them in for one reason or another. Could either be to quiet the squeaking or keep the bed from scratching their freshly painted or powder coated frames. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

Under the bed of my 72 someone has used pieces of a tire sidewall cut into squares. They are not very thick, the body lines still look straight.

I think the pads are great.
They do, however, raise the bed a little bit. This meant raising the rear cab supports with a washer or two in order to make the side trim pieces line up. |

Aren't those bed mounting rubber pads really for Blazers and maybe, Suburbans? Not for fleetsides. Never seen them on fleetsides.
