Suspension Package Question

I been looking around and I think this is about the best deal I can find. I have a 57 3100 with all stock susp.

I am thinking of tearing into it in the next couple weeks.

I know I will still need to pick up a rear end (S-10) and a
Steering Column (32" Chrome Shifter Column on Ebay 359.00)
Steering Shaft and Joints are about (150 bucks)
The compressor and Tank can be taken of later cause its not in this kit.

But, This is what I am thinking of buying this week. It also free shipping.

Asking the guys who have done this already on a 47-59. Is this the way I should go? If not what do you suggest?

Re: Suspension Package Question

Ask for a copy of the instruction on the IFS see if its what you want to get into fab wise. 47-551st is different than 55 2nd to 59. If they are selling same kit to fit both there will be a lot of fab work involved. For all the work a MII takes you could save a few bucks and go with a monte carlo or camaro ifs.
$3100 seems a bit high even with free shipping.

Re: Suspension Package Question

actually they dont sell you the exact same thing for 47-55 as they do for the 55-59. I remember shipping them out when I was there. Thy use different crossmembers but the rest of the stuff was the same. Im not sure about the 4 link stuff.

Re: Suspension Package Question

I'll second that. I talked with Jeph on friday as I am looking at the same thing you are for my '50, and Scotts Hot Rods seems like the way to go.

Re: Suspension Package Question

Just Called Jeph, Sounds like he really knows his stuff. He is sending me a quote for what it is that I wanted. I'll keep those of you who are looking to do this same thing posted to which way I will be going.
