My story
Hey guys, my first post on this site. Im kinda new to the chevy thing, so bear with me. I resently aquired a 63 short bed stepside from my uncle, it has a 327 from a 65 vette, and the original granny 4 speed. after driving it arround for a while, i started to hear a slight distinctive knocking sound coming from the motor. so i drove it down to the chevy guy down the street and he said to hook up an oil pressure gauge, to make sure its not a bearing. I hooked it up and guess what? No oil pressure, and when you rev it, it barely creeps up to 20 psi. Soon im going to pull the motor, and get a closer look, but like I said, im new to the chevy world, so tips would be much appriciated.
thanks. |

Re: My story
Welcome fron Tennessee!
Be a shame to blow a Vette motor. Hopefully it's something simple (oil pump) But if you're gonna pull it anyway might as well freshen 'er up.

Re: My story
BTW welcome to a great place. As far as advice it's hard to say without being there to hear it. Just a quick guesss would be a spun rod bearing. Just a WAG. Good luck with it. Are you familiar with the engine side of the forum? There is alot of experience here but there might be more in the engine forum.
