Re: 6.0 install complete
WOW....beautiful job Mike!
Seems like it can be difficult to make a LS install look really clean......you pulled it off. I have seen those Edelbrock covers advertised and wondered how they looked installed.....nice. What were the specs on your old big block (hp, torque) and how does the 6.0 compare. What tranny is behind it?

Re: 6.0 install complete
VERY NICE! I would love to see a list of engine mods also. I didnt even realize edelbrock made covers for this setup. I really like!

Re: 6.0 install complete
thanks guys!!!
the engine is an LQ9 and it is a stock flat top motor. i did upgrade the valve springs to the LS6 springs. the cam is stock , the LQ9 cam is the same cam as an LS1. the intake and fuel system is stock LS1 Corvette along with the front drive system. horsepower with this setup and computer tune is supposed to be 410 hp and around 400 tq .the computer and wiring harness is from Painless Wiring. very easy install. the headers are edelbrock #65173. Jim , i have not driven it enough to give you an honest opinion on how it compares to the 396 , but the hp and tq numbers are close. the 6.0 is a lot more driver friendly. idles too smooth !!! the tranmission is a 700r4 . its one of those Rator transmissions with a 2800 rpm stall converter. i installed a TCI constant pressure valvebody. lot better trans than the turbo 400 with the 3500rpm stall and the 4.10 rear gear. the edelbrock coil covers are cool. i started to go with the corvette covers ,but i would be like everyone else. the edelbrock covers were so new when i got mine(thanks to the wife) that the were not in the catalog. i do still need to clean it up and tidy up some of the wiring. kevin , give me a little time to get it broke in and then we'll take it to the track and beat on it. which one do ya'll like better the 396 or the 6.0? i do kinda miss the fat!! motor. |
