Dont want to fry the starter...help!
I need some advise on wiring my starter. I am wiring it using a ez wiring kit.
Victim is a C10 1964 with a 84 5.7L. The way it is currently wired with the ez kit....minus a starter being wired is similar to this (http://www.oldengine.org/unfaq/solenoid.htm) with a remote starter solenoid. A friend urged me to get a small high torque starter which is in this picture: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo...eat=directlink http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo...eat=directlink The starter solenoid pic is here: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo...eat=directlink Can someone help me understand how to get ride of the solenoid and which wires should go where? I am a noob in the wiring department...well that is a understatement! Thanks in advance guys! GMud

Re: Dont want to fry the starter...help!
I think I figured it out.
Purple wire goes to the S terminal on the new starter. Red wire goes on same post as positive wire does on the new starter. Red wire supplies power to the fuse box Purple wire jumps to the ignition Thoughts?
