My TH350
My turbo 350 that I picked up today has a plug on it like a 700r4. What is it and how do I make it work on my 67

Re: My TH350
Depending on the year of the transmission the "plug" could be part of the TCS systems that were put onto vehicles. If it is then the transmission "plug" was for signaling the TCS system when the transmission was in high gear.
I am not sure what other function a "plug" would have on a TH 350. Jim

Re: My TH350
I think the lockup 350C has that plug. It engages the torque converter clutch.

Re: My TH350
I have one too. From what I can find we will need the plug in, vacumn/electric solenoid on the firewall and a cancel switch on the brake pedal and a fused power lead of course. I checked with a local trans man and he said I could not use this trans with a regular converter without making some change inside and could not run it without the converter switch hooked up or it would burn it up. I'm lookin to rebuild my plain t350 instead.
Bill, Palf 70 step, has one of the 350C trannys in his though I don't know if he has driven it or has the converter hooked up.

Re: My TH350
then your converter will slip a bit more than you want and build up some added heat.
Won't kill your tranny real fast, but not good for a long life either. Last edited by Longhorn Man; 03-23-2009 at 03:27 PM. |

Re: My TH350
Yes, that is what I am told. A bit more slip. I don't have mine hooked up yet, but I have the harness to hook mine up whenever I get to the rerwiring stage on mine.

Re: My TH350
My friend bought a truck with this tranny in it. It had been rebuilt and never run because the guy put a new cam in the motor and messed it up. Well my friend pulled the motor and tranny and gave me the brand new tranny. I was going to run a 700 but times are tight right now so I will run this one until it blows up
