What to do?
The front bump stops on my K10 are about 1" from the top of my front leafs, and my front leafs look like they have more negative arch than normal. What should I do? I was thinking I should get my front leafs re arched a little to make them straight, but then I'd have to lift the rear as well.

Re: What to do?
I have 3" there. 18.5 inches to the center of the front shakel bolt from the floor. but I have the inner/outter fenders, hood, bumpe, and grill off at the time of the mesurent. the only other things are I have 31" tires and mine are factory 3 leaf front springs. a few indications that this truck had a plow from the dealer are relays for the plow lights and a bolt in front crossmember. and a vintage fisher resievor sticker in the bottom of the front fender. hope this helps. I wish the truck was done so I could give a good ground mesurment. I wanna drive this thing!

Re: What to do?
No plow, ever. It was a southern farmers truck, so no need, plus, no bolt or sticker or relay.. I think it may be that way from someone offroading a lot and putting a lot of stress on the front springs.

Re: What to do?
Does the truck sit level? A lot of the Blazers and half tons had a negative arch in the front. I believe that was common.

Re: What to do?
Yes, but.... there should be more than one inch to the bump stops. Seems like that's about what my K20 had before I replaced the sagging springs.
My guess is that's what you might have -- but also check your bushings, they might be gone.

Re: What to do?
It is supposed to have a negative arch on the front, but not this much, the truck does sit level, but if I go off road I dont want to hit the bump stops.

Bradley
If your interested I have a brand new pair of SkyJacker 2-1/2" soft ride lift springs that I was going to put up for sale soon. Never installed, and shocks also. Gary

Re: What to do?
You ain`t off topic. You either need to re-arch and add a leaf or replace and here`s your replacements. You`d have the heavy springs with a diesel.I think the motor is what helped let the front sag.The trucks sit a bit lower in front from factory.I had my`91 Blazer front springs arched and a leaf added to level it up and run 12.50/33s on 10" rims.
Here`s a stock`87 that never hauled and has a 4.3:

Re: What to do?
Just so you know,I paid a couple hundred the last time I had that done. So,if you want a little stance those 2 1/2s would be a cool move. You could just do an add-a-leaf in the back to level it up.

Re: What to do?
If you decide to re-arch your springs, you'll probably want to replace the bushings too. New springs should come with bushings (maybe poly) installed. My 2.5" Softrides have a nicer ride than when I had add-a-leafs on my sagging OEM springs....

Re: What to do?
I'd love to get the springs, but my wallet wont. I may have to wait a while til I can afford to fix it.

Re: What to do?
As a temporary fix, I had add-a-leafs (with the stock shocks) for a few years or so. It added probably an inch of height and firmed up the ride, and bought me some time before I got the Softrides.
