newby question about bolting on np205 and o-ring
Hi guys,
Finally putting the drivetrain into my '72 K25...468/4l80e/np205...I just have a question about sealing the transfer case to the transmission/t-case adapter. I've had the T400 adapter machined to fit in the rear of the 4L80e...I have the o-ring and gasket for the transmission side of the adapter...my question is, is there supposed to be an o-ring on the transfer case side of the adapter...I have the "figure 8" gasket...just need to know if I need an o-ring on this side as well, and if so, can you get them at NAPA, A-zone, etc.? Thanks, Casey

Re: newby question about bolting on np205 and o-ring
Usually you can just "goop" it with RTV, or I know there are some places online that sell oem type replacements. Good luck with NAPA, A-zone, etc...usually they're clueless on transfer cases or anything of vintage what-so-ever, occasionally you'll get lucky, but it's rare.
