Are 67-72 GM rocker panels still available?

I've heard it's worth the money to buy gm rockers over the repos everyone sells for 19.95. I've looked at a few suppliers but haven't found what I'm looking for. Does anyone know if you can still get gm rocker panels from GM or from a vendor. Should I be looking on ebay?

Yeah check ebay. They come up every now and then. I believe there still available from GM too or any most vendors. But first keep an eye on them on ebay. They go in the $200 up range. But there worth it.

You do see some OEM/NOS stuff on ebay all the time. Seems like I saw some of these not too long ago. I've looked at the repos and they seem like they would get the job done if you can't find GM.

I used the rockers from Brothers. They fit nice. I did have to make them fit but they where ok. I had one side done in 1.5 hours.

Not all of them. I had to cut a set 40 ways from Sunday to get them to fit. It's hit or miss with LMC.

I'd call first but he keeps an impressive inventory of sheet metal for these trucks on hand.

I think you will be happy with what you see if you run down there and get to see them first hand.

Also It's worth the trip just to see his project trucks in the shop.

yeah, I've visited Wes before. but It's been years. He's got some really cool stuff. I'm going to wait till I can hold GM and repo in my hand before making a decision. I just can't imagine a twenty dollar repo being as good as gm. Not that this truck will ever be perfect. But it is a blazer. getting everything to fit correctly is already going to be a challenge.

Re: Are 67-72 GM rocker panels still available?

I second the ones that Wes at Classic Heartbeat sells. I've had them in my hands at his shop and they are nice units. I need to replace mine if I can ever park the truck long enough to do some serious work on it.

Re: Are 67-72 GM rocker panels still available?

I had a pretty old NOS set I sold on Ebay for a good chunk of change. When the guy got them he was unhappy with them because he felt they weren't any better than the repops he already had (repops are way cheaper).

Ive got a lot of metal from Wes. He's a good guy to deal with and wont steer you wrong.

Re: Are 67-72 GM rocker panels still available?

The first outwardly noticable body work I ever did on my truck was weld on aftermarket rocker panels. I never had to tweak a thing. I don't mean to disparage our fine board suppliers or gmparts direct but I'd would - and did - go aftermarket for this part and couldn't be happier.

You're not disparaging our board vendors...thats what they sell, aftermarket parts.

Question Re: Are 67-72 GM rocker panels still available?

Does anyone know if there is a sheetmetal gauge difference between the reproductions and the original GM parts?

Re: Are 67-72 GM rocker panels still available?

Another vote for Wes, I've used his rockers on my truck and they fit as well as anything will on a 42 year old vehicle. I personally expect to have to massage any body panel a little on a car this age as tolerances back then were no where near as good as on todays cumputer designed and robot assembled vehicles. Great guy to deal with too which is important when you're ordering from a couple of thousand miles away!

OEM= Original Equipment Manufacturer (original part)

NOS= New Old Stock. An OEM part that has never been used

I had heard from alot of folks that the aftermarkets were about as good as the GM ones.... At least that is what I heard a few times.
