The first truck I ever bought!!!
Hey ya'll!
I thought some of you might get a kick out of seeing the first truck I ever bought! I was 15, and had hardly any money at all. I found this 1970 C10 for $250. I also had to trade in my 10 speed bike! It had a 250 six, and 420 four-speed. The 4 on the floor wasn't original. It still had the manual three on the tree column in it. Wasn't much of a truck, but it got me around! I eventually found a good bed to put on it, ditched the front bumper, and put some decent tires on it. Plus I had to overhaul the engine. My first one! I guess this truck will always mean a lot to me. Wish I still had it! Had a lot of other Chevy trucks since then, but I still think about this one once in a while. Later!

I wish I had all my old trucks too. I was doing that last night, looking at my trucks from way back! How do you post them on here. They are original pics now how do you get them on a disc? Thanks Randy

This is my very first truck of the 67-72 vintage. I still have it, but it doesnt' look anything like it did back in 1993 when this picture was taken. I got it for $3500 with the camper. It had 49,000 miles on a 402BB, th400, PS, PB, posi 3.54 Dana 60. The aftermarket duals were added by the original owner. I still have them too but they are not on the truck. The sad thing is it will probably end up being parted this next Spring and that will be the end of her. Gone will be the very first Ochre truck that started my addiction.

seanh71,
I don't how it got dented with that kind of protection, the dent was already there when I got it, but I do know that when I unbolted the bumper, the front end just about went up in the air! I could barely lift that thing. The flatbed is home-made. It's just the bottom of a 73-87 bed portion sitting on 4x4 wood blocks on the frame. The fender well holes were covered with plywood. The sleeper was built out of plywood. The tail lights were the 73-87 style, held on by baling wire. If this wasn't the ultimate redneck truck, I don't know what is! Except maybe for the 55 Chevy a friend of mine had once. It didn't have a seat, just an old milk crate. He took a corner too fast once, and he fell out of the truck!

teeitup,
I have a flatbed scanner, and I just scan the pics onto my computer and save them as a jpeg file. Then I upload them to a free web hosting service, like webshots.com. This forum also lets you attach a picture directly to a post from your computer. That's what I did with the above photo.
