bad u-joints?
okay, this has seemed to be getting worse. i'm having a loud rattling coming from under my truck whenever i accelerate from a dead stop. it sounds sorta like pop cans dragging along with my truck, but it will stop if i let off the gas, which to me would indicate a bad ujoint, but.... it will also stop after i get to some random speed going.
what could this be? its really bothering me and i need to find out so jon and i can fix it next weekend when we lower my truck |

Hate to think it but maybe the Torque Converter? What makes me think this is that it's doing it at accerating where the engine is spinning it more under load. Also what about maybe the rear axle? But you may be right with the U-joints. Easy to replace. I would change them out and see how it does. One more thing is to check under the truck for your T/C cover may be loose as well.

sounds like u-joints to me. Even if it isn't, they are cheap and easy to do and it will give you peace of mind and one less thing to troubleshoot.

My three year old son almost kicked mine into reverse doing 55 on the highway. He also kicked the fuel tank switch once and instead of going to the other tank it stuck in the middle and killed my truck instantly. This was during one of the worst snowstorms of the winter luckily I made it to the side of the road, but it took me a good 20 minutes to figure out what happened.Keep the kids in the middle my a**.
