Truck in a movie...

Took the wife to see "Sweet Home Alabama" last night. Not bad for a chick flick. Her "redneck" husband drove a GMC 4X4. I think '71 0r '72. Not much of a judge of the GMC,s. Funny part was when they showed him in the truck going somewhere, the gear shift was all the way up in park.

I always liked these rides, but that movie (dazed and confused) was part of the motivation for me snatching one up.

I just saw a 68 in the kids movie The Country Bears. They cut to a traffic scene and there is a sea foam green LWB in that shot.

Question for you guys.

A long time ago, I saw a movie titled "Small Town in Texas" or something similar. Not a very memorable movie except for one scene.

The plot was predictable. There was a kid that was chasing the skirt of the sheriff's daughter and they took off, trying to elope (sp?).

Anyway, they camje upon a farm and the farmer caught them. He ended up helping them. They all climbed into this old '65 or '66 pickup. (This is the part that I like.)

The kid asks "if this thing will run?"
The old farmer chuckles and says "huh, yeah she runs alright."
Then he tells the kid that "she's got a 427 in 'er." Then he cranks it up (it sounds mean) and takes off.

Anybody else ever heard of or seen this movie? Like I said, except for that particular scene it's not a very memorable flick.
