72 windshield trim on 70 or earlier cab?
Hey guys, thanks in advance for you inputs... I recently traded cabs off my 72 c20, that had a lot of cancer. I put on an older cab. I don't know what year it is. I only know it is older because it came with the older style metal door panels on it. I am now trying to find out if I can take the metal windshield trim off my old, '72, cab and put it on the new, '70 or older, cab.
Hope this makes sense. Thanks

Re: 72 windshield trim on 70 or earlier cab?
The trim will work if you use the 72 windshield seal. They changed the depth that the chrome went into the rubber seal and putting the wrong year seal with the 72 chrome will not work.

You just need to make sure you get the correct year rubber that matches your trim. I think there were two depths to the channel the trim slides in to. Windshields are interchangeable 67-72.
Yes Im a slow typer....=)

Had the same question a month ago. The consensus is that the is that the older trim is deeper than the 71-72, so make sure you get the seal for that year. Cnut

Check with WES (Classic Heartbeat)...I have a 70 cab and bought either a 71 or 72 chrome seal and trim for the windshield. As far as I know it was installled w/o any issues.
