63-66 Trans Cooler lines
I am having a problem finding the right cooler lines for my truck. I have a 65 c-20. I purchased a new radiator and I am trying to get the correct cooler lines for my transmission. I have ordered the trans cooler lines from two different companies and they sent the same part to me but the lines are nt bent right for my truck. Any idea ? Thanks.

Re: 63-66 Trans Cooler lines
Unless you are able to find a set specifically set up for a Powerglide or Turbohydramatic, you will have to do some custom bending to make them fit properly.
You might try these: http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cbe/full.aspx?Page=75 |

I went to NAPA and paid $8 for a tubing bender, then bought pre-flared lines the right length with correct fittings on them - lines are not expensive either. Be sure to keep the fittings on the flared side of your bends when you make them (I only forgot once).

Re: 63-66 Trans Cooler lines
[rant warning]
Just finishing my S/S (pre-bent) installation this weekend (as purchased for a 64' to 66' Chevelle - from Original Parts Group, for around $80.00) and this whole thing has been a giant fiasco. Do exactly what Steve did and you'll be a very happy camper. The Chinese knock-offs are not even close to being correct and I'm having to purchase separate straight thread to tapered thread adapters to get these pre-bent purchased lines to work. Return what you've got and bend your own! [rant over] Mac.

Re: 63-66 Trans Cooler lines
Better yet bend your own using the new ones for a pattern. Then return them. You can buy the tube with fittings in different lengths at the parts store. Just don't try to bend it without a bender. The spring one will work.
