Anybody with 15" x 12 and 15" x 10 ???

Hi ,

last night I had a discussion with a friend of mine about 15 inch rims....
Personally I like 15"ers because of the classic looks (small rim / big rubber).

Now we wonder how it would look like and ride like especially with 15 x12 (rear) and 15 x 10 (front) ina LWB truck.

Maybe someone has a pic or two of a truck with this combo (with tire-specs...)

Re: Anybody with 15" x 12 and 15" x 10 ???

I ran 15x10's on my old 84. I didn't have it lowered or anything, and didn't have any problems. The only thing I really noticed was that it had a tendancy to find the ruts in the road more.

With 10's on the front you need to be concerned with hydroplaning on wets roads. The side of your truck will be splattered constantly as well.

Hey Rob,
i have 10x15´s allaround and they ride nice.Hydroplaning wasn´t a problem yet but like N2TRUX said the truck is splattered with mud and water all the time!

Yeah mine wasn't too bad about hydroplaning. However, I don't think I would go that big on the front again.

I have 15x10's all around right now and I don't mind them at all. The front could lose an inch though. I've got some rubbing issues after lowering.

A 15x12 in the rear MIGHT fit, but it will be close. You will have to get the spacing perfect. I'm running a 275 rear tire right now and I *think* I could get away with a 295, but a 305 would be pushing it.

Re: Anybody with 15" x 12 and 15" x 10 ???

I had 325/50's on a 10" rally wheel on my Blazer for a while. It was lowered about 4", and the tire filled the whole wheelwell. It was huge.

The 295/50 on a 10" wheel on my swb looks too short to me. Any narrower tire would look stretched out, IMO. Too bad you can't still get a 285/70R15 tire anymore.

Re: Anybody with 15" x 12 and 15" x 10 ???

You can GET them, but they are almost $200 at Cokers. That's a little pricy for a 15" tire, IMO. Then again, I'm cheap.

Re: Anybody with 15" x 12 and 15" x 10 ???

Right now I have 15x8 with BS 3.75 and 225/60 R15 in the front and 15x10 with BS 3.75 and 275/60 R15 in the back.
I still think 15x10 all around would look better, esspecially in the front - the 15x10 would fill the wheelwell better...

Do you guys think 15x10 BS 3.75 ALL AROUND maybe with a wheels spacer (1") in the back would look good ????

Yesterday I got rid of my flipkit and those 3" springs..... too low for me - now I have 2.5" spindles and shackle and hangar installed - I like that much better and I think NOW I shouldn`t run into any "rubbing-issues" even with 10s in the front .... Am I right ?

Re: Anybody with 15" x 12 and 15" x 10 ???

Here we go...sry - just cell phone pix....

Picture 1 (2" dropspindles + 3" springs and Flipkit)
Picture 2 (2" dropspindles and shackle/hangar) 15x8 and 15x10 rims
Picture 3 15x10 rims all around

What do you think about those 15x10 in the front or should I keep the 15x8?
