Ordered a lift for my blazer today
I called up rough country and spoke to a guy name Jeffrey. He was a real nice guy to deal with and gave me a heck of a deal on a 4 inch lift kit for the blazer. I'm on a budget so I couldn't go all out but it's a start, I got the 4 inch lift with the basic shocks and blocks in the rear with the raised steering arm for $400.85 shipped to my door. Sounds like a deal to me. I got a bit of a discount cuz i'm a member over on jeepforum.com

Eager to see the install - you going to be working on it as soon as the kit comes in?

Re: Ordered a lift for my blazer today
Well the lift was waiting for me when I got home today. I put the new steering arm first, then hung the front springs but i'm gonna pick up new bolts for it tomorrow cuz I don't like using the old bolts. I'll take some pics but it won't be anything great since the front clip is off and the engine is out.
On a side note, i've been going through the Border Patrol hiring process and today I was interviewed and made it through so now i'll I need to do is do the medical exam and the fitness test and hopefully i'll be offered a position.

Re: Ordered a lift for my blazer today
I have lift now but there are two things i'm not happy with.
First, the springs hit the frame. I don't have an engine in it right now and no front clip so virtually no weight. I'll look into some longer shackles and new frame bushings to see if that clears it up...hopefully that does the trick. Second, I wasn't expecting a perfectly level blazer but it's off about 2 inches. Mind you I don't have new springs in the back, just blocks and old springs plus i'm sure once I get longer shackles up front and some weight on the front it will help the front spring compress and flatten out a little...again, hopefully.

Re: Ordered a lift for my blazer today
JTrux - Are you keeping the lift or returning it? I ask because Im removing my 4inch lift in about a week and will attempt to sell it.
I dont know the brand...it was on it when I purchased the Jimmy. I will have the front and rear springs and the 4 inch blocks for the rear available. Just thought I would let you know first.... |
