?? Remember Me ??
What does the "Remember Me" mean at login? What exactly does it do? When and why would you Check the box. Whether I check the box or not, I don't notice any difference in my forum time. I know it is a silly question---But I'm curious.

Re: ?? Remember Me ??
As far as I know I believe it remembers your log in name so all you have to do is put in your password to log in. Just a little time save.

it saves your user name and password, so you dont have to enter them each time you visit the site.

Re: ?? Remember Me ??
correct. just close the browser, next time you visit you'll automatically be logged in.
it also means that anyone who uses the computer can make all kinds of incriminating posts under your name... |

Re: ?? Remember Me ??
There are two forms of the remember me. Depends on the board. One remembers just your i.d. The other remembers your i.d. and password.
I will use the i.d., but not the password. I need all the security I can get, and stored passwords are not that secure.

Re: ?? Remember Me ??
I click it when I log on. It keeps me logged on even if Im away from the puter for awhile. If I don't click it when I log on I'm logged off the site (can still read it, just cant respond to threads) after a certain amount of inactive time on the board.
My cookies and history are cleaned every time I close a browser window so I always have to punch in user name and password when I first open the site.

Re: ?? Remember Me ??
Just click log out, that should do the trick.

Re: ?? Remember Me ??
Not what I ment. At work when I log on I push j and my name appears. Then my password right behind it. I don't want these jack rabbits from work to be able to get in here as me. At home the laptop is setup never to remember user names and passwords. I don't know how to take my name and password out of work computer.

Re: ?? Remember Me ??
Jason, Try this. Go to Internet Options on your computer and do a Clear all Cookies. I think that might wipe out your automatic login info.

Re: ?? Remember Me ??
That will clear it for that instance. If your work computer is set to automatically recall passwords, it will remember it again the next time you log on.
Your going to need to change the settings of your work computer, or log off after every session.
