Pinion nut torque spec?
How many ft. lbs. should i torque the pinion nut on my coil spring 12-bolt rearend? I can't seem to find it in any of my manuals. Or is the torque spec different for each rearend?

There is no tork spec per say on the pinion nut on a 12 bolt. With the carrier & ring out, the pinion nut should be tightened enough to crush the sleeve, & give about 8-10 inch lbs rotating tork on the pinion(used bearings , & oiled). if you have new bearings, the figure is a little higher(about 12-15 inch lbs). The books will show a higher figure for new bearings.......but the driveline shops will run them a little looser to prevent "blue bearings". good luck.....crazy AL
