fenders
i have a 82 but i really like the fenders off of a 79 so what im wondering is can i take the front fenders off of a 79 and have them bold right up to my 82...im thinking of just going to a junk yard and swapping them out or something

unless you swap everything firewall foreword, no. Why do you like the 79 fenders better?

the whole thing is different including the wipers cowl etc... you would need the rad support too....

It can be done, it's lots of work, and you would need a doner truck.
It would mostly bolt on, but the wiper shafts would need switched, and the radiator may not fit the core support. Round headlight front ends are stronger, but heavier and more prone to rust. Unless it keeps you awake at night, I think it's fine like it is. You can get those crystal clear headlights and signal lenses from LMC that will make your front end look tight. |

If your wanting to swap a 73-80 nose your gonna have to do alot .The 73/80 hood hinges are bolted to the fender and the 81-7 hood hinges rest in a set of slots on the firewall once closed.Plus like someone here mentioned the 73-80 has just the hood and a 81-7 has a 2 piece hood and cowl panel.Your gonna need a entire front clip from a 73-80 to make it work and do what i did to this 85 cab here pictured.Plus your going to want to weld up the holes in the cowl to smooth it out as well. I`m swapping a 85 cab back to a 80 with the dash,and the 2 hood adjustment bolts on the sides.I kinda went overbored and welded the entire front seam up as i did have to replace some rotted sections in the firewall.But if your up to the challenge its rewarding once done i think.
