putting engine back together Questions??

I am putting the wires harness back on and was wondering if there is a place to find the wire insulation that came on the wires. Mine has fallen off or unraveled.

Could someone post a picture of the solenoid wiring so I can make sure I have mine correct. I took pictures but can’t find that one of the distributor and solenoid. It is for a 1972 350, 4bbbl 350 automatic.

I was wondering if running the engine without the exhaust would hurt. I have the exhaust manifolds on but no exhaust on yet. I am waiting to paint it before I put it on.

Re: putting engine back together Questions??

I get wiring loom supplies from Rhode Island Wiring. They have a good website.

As far as the starter wiring, the purple wire goes to the "S" terminal and the yellow wire goes to the other terminal.

Here is the engine compartment wiring diagram. The yellow wire goes from the solenoid to the + side of the coil.
