Tranny down shift problems.
Hey guys I was just wondering if any one could tell me whats up with my 350 tubo.
It goes through all the gears fine but it will not down **** when i slow to 35,It will only down shift if I slow to under 20It is becoming a real pain in the ass espesially on on ramps I have to manually shift it down to second. I changed the govener from another tranny but all that did was change the shift points any help would be greatly apreciated. |

Does it have a lock-up torque convertor?

The wire on top pf the trans, if it is a TH-350c controls the lockup. I am guessing that the wire on the side must be for backup lights, because I can't think of any wires.
It sounds like your kickdown cable is broken, not hooked up, or not adjusted. I used to have a th-350 in a Cutlass that had the same symptoms. It was just a kickdown cable out of adjustment. Slonaker |

I had a similar problems with my truck when I first picked it up. Turned out I just needed to adjust the kick-down cable, and it worked properly from that point on.
