What are the PROS and CONS of a Dropmember?
I'm looking at getting one, but would like to know how much lower it will make my 72? Also does that mean I can ride lower with more air pressure resulting in better ride quality? Help me out!

I would say the only downside is the price!

Compared to what? Compared to doing nothing, yes the price is a negative. If you compare it to Z'ing, or a sectioned crossmember then it's not quite as bad.

Re: What are the PROS and CONS of a Dropmember?
Yes you will be able to ride lower at a higher psi + better ride. Also the geometry is better at lower heights then the stock set up resulting in better handling as well. With the DM and drop spindles (looks like you have those now) it will lay your frame on the ground depending on your rear set up. All this means is you have more travel then before and this is were the extra psi at the lower height comes into play. The narrower track width will help with turning when you are lower avoiding as much fender issues. I have a truck in my shop right now getting one installed because he always rides very low but now it will ride nice that low and not like a big marsh mellow
Yep no cons that I have found. Kevin LFD Inc. |

Im just saying the total price is a little pricey with everything you need! I love the design and wish I could afford one!

Re: What are the PROS and CONS of a Dropmember?
If you add up everything you would need (parts, fab costs, etc) to gain the same ground clearance and performance that a Dropmember provides, you'll find that the price of a Dropmember is actually a bargain considering how nice of a piece of work it is. Guys that Z their frames always go through a point in the process where they wished that they hadn't tackled the job. It's alot more work than it appears, and everything that touches, hangs on, or bolts to the front end always winds up needing to be modified to make it all work.
I can't tell you how many times I went down a certain path to save money, only to wind up spending almost the same amount and gaining a ton of headaches in the process. |

Re: What are the PROS and CONS of a Dropmember?
No cons,
All pros. You gain much needed ground clearance of the lower control arms. It also centers the front wheels in the wheel opening. Plus it narrows the front track width. It uses all of your original truck suspension, instead of converting to light weight Mustang II components. I think the price is in line also. Before the Dropmember,... no other product addressed these issues,... especially if you wanted to lay the frame.
