here we go again . my 1971 swb build
over the years i have compiled a ton of extra parts that i had plans for but never really had a chance to use for one reason or another. so last spring i picked up a 1971 short bed fleet side , the truck was a bone stock 6cyl w/ 3 on the tree manual everything. the over all condition of the sheet metal was good and the truck was very straight. it's funny that the truck only had one dent and it was on the GMC tail gate that some one put on after the fact. it's no Jimmy. so just to get you up to speed on what i have into it on time and money, here we go i got the truck for $1200. i bought some lowered control arms and coils off Hotrod Homi for $150. put all that stuff on and then decided that in needed to be lower so i installed ART bags that i had for another project. i was in to that stuff for about $2000. then i had some 18/20 centerline that i picked up for $500. and new tires that i got for $270. i also picked up a killer Good wrench crate with a turbo 400 for $500 so now i have all the major parts to get started. so here are some pictures of what i have done and where i am going with this. total as of today $4,470.00 not too bad .
