WELL ...ALOT..LOL i built the whole frame ...its 2x4 1/4 tubing...the crossmember is the stock one that i notched out 3 inches or so and narrowed it about 2 1/4...i have put some pics up the other day on here and nobody has posted on them so...i put this pic up ...look here LINK i have about a hundred on myspace...lol

thanks guys for the comments...this is one place for sure that the people can understand why i have spent 600 hrs and 3 months of my life building something ...lol cant wait to paint it....need some color ideas form you guys....cant make my mind up...again thanks guys , with out this site it sure wouldnt have been nearly as easy to build...

yeah i would prob do it again...i have a 65 iam thinking on doing next..prob goin to make a drop crossmember for it ...i have couple of buddys that have the same truck...so if i do my 65 they will want one too and that way they want have to build a whole frame...cause you know your buddy cant lay frame and you not...haha.... so might as well make a jig and make a few of them....lol doesnt look to bad to make ..i seen a picture once... there is a couple of pics of mine before i narrowed it 2 1/4 inchs

well i have still got the truck oil pan that came on the 5.3, so i really cant ride it as low as i want to just yet and feel safe(got to put this car pan i got
on it )....but it still rides ok at almost full lift...ill try to put pics up at full lift...i ride with the front kinda high to give more turning radius right now, cause when i shaved the firewall i had 20's on it need to have a lil more room for the 24's...they are about 1inch bigger over all than my 20's.. i just havent trimmed/tub the firewall yet...i dont think i will take too much and it will be able to steer a good bit for being all the way down,,,i think |

I did a static 3.5/5 on my 71 and now it is no where near low enough. Guess I shoulda bagged it from the get-go, LOL.

thanks the 67 i drove to high school was static lowered...i miss that truck !! so i have always wanted another one of these trucks , and when i started to build this truck i went to some pretty good truck shows with plans of gettin some ideas, ...when i seen one of these trucks layin frame with 24's ........i had to have it, so i went to work on it soon as i got home...lol thanks guys for the positive comments....makes me want to even work on it more...

That is sick. You guys know when a truck is low when the owner says he needs to "tub" the firewall. That thing is awesome.
