"BIG" truck forum C/40, C/50, C/60 and the like...
I love looking at the "BIG" trucks and would love to one day have a C-40 wrecker, so I was thinking we need a forum for them specifically. I don't think it would have to be broke down into sizes or specific year models or anything, just one link for everything and see how it goes. Maybe it could go below the "S10 S15 Luv Blazer II" section. Anyway, look at this post for some more info.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...18#post3264818 So, lets vote and see if the moderators think it’s warranted to make this new section. I included a pic of one of my recent finds; I would LOVE to have something like this!

I think these big brutes are cool and it would be nice to have a forum for them becouse their is not alot of info floating around the web on them. I think a lot of poeple on here could answer questions about them.

I had a chance to buy a 4wd C-60, now every day I hate myself for passing on it.

Re: "BIG" truck forum C/40, C/50, C/60 and the like...
there would probably be more questions on this subject if people knew they could find the information.
I would be interested in, what were the differences in the different sizes, motor specs, transmissions, were the cabs the same as the smaller trucks? If the body parts will mount up on a 1/2, 3/4 ton would it make the truck look lowered?

Re: "BIG" truck forum C/40, C/50, C/60 and the like...
So far we have 2 folks who say they have one and would use the area. I know there are more out there on the site, but it will take a bit more to make that happen.
I am not against a forum addition, it just needs to be justified. This poll has been open 10 days and the results are low low... maybe start writing up some big truck posts, faqs etc and show that its needed. |

There's the big "pickup conversion" variation... (the owner of that web site had contacted me about a Blazer Chalet he used to own)

I like the big guys myself but they would get more exposure on the regular 67-72 section.

Re: "BIG" truck forum C/40, C/50, C/60 and the like...
I drove an old 72 GMC tandem dump body.401 V6 5 speed main box and a 4 speed aux. off and on for 8 years.Light loaded was ok but when I hauled sand to the batch plant 21 ton at a time (overloaded ) you needed every gear!!
Also about the same time period I pulled trailers with a 74 Chevy C60 366 V8 5 speed and 2 speed axle. Drove a 65 Chevy fuel truck,If you left the two back compartments full and the rest empty it would wheel stand (don't ask how i know that) Last edited by powerdriver 1958; 06-16-2009 at 07:58 PM. |

We NEED a medium duty forum section; It can only be beneficial.
In the meantime please post any/all links concerning 73 and newer medium (or even heavy duty) gm trucks. |

Here's my "big" truck. It's a '66 C80 with the 366 V8 and little Spicer 3152F 5speed. Going to try my best to restore it, but I'm having trouble finding parts in the northeast. If anyone knows of any good yards in NY or PA, please let me know!

Big trucks don't rock, they just carry them.
