Talking drop is on for sat/sun!

got my spindles and coils today for christmas

saturday and sunday jon and i are gonna drop my truck and then paint some of his.

i'll have a 4/5 drop this weekend and if i like it, i may decide to just get some edelbrock shocks like mike has and run that set up. i'm gonna be running my stock shocks until i get new ones, and i wont have a c notch yet since it will only be a 5" drop

Forget thinking about this, it ain't going to happen. I wouldn't even drive it except to the front end shop.

i wouldn't take a road trip or anything before i got it aligned, but i think i put 25 or 30 miles on mine in the few days i waited to go to the alignment shop. you'll be albe to visably see the negative camber on it but it won't drive out of control or anything. now, if you were replacing tie rods and messing the toe up its a whole different story

For the shocks I highely recommend Bilstine shocks.I felt like I bought a new truck it rode so much better, no harsh jolt when you hit a hole in the pavement, and it takes the dips in the road much faster and smoother. Try the Bilstines you will love them! I put them on my 55 GMC with the Mustang ll front end and it a new ride out of it. I liked it so much I bought a set for my 78 and it rides great. I have the Bilstine factory working on re-valving a set of rear shocks that I can run on the rear with the 4" drop. they should be in the big brown truck this PM as the charges hit my CC on Friday last week. If anyone is interested I can hook you up with the part numbers for a 3-4 drop shocks that WORK.

Bob

jeez, where were you guys when i dropped my truck in '00? (its my fault, i just hadnt found you yet!) i dropped mine 2.5/4, on a Wednesday and Thursday afternoon when i was in college, no time to align. i had to drive it 150 mi home so i could make it to work Friday morning. boy was that a chore! i've never driven a truck that required so much "herding" to keep it between the lines. at about 75 miles, i felt the rear end walking around a little bit. u bolts worked loose, and ALMOST lost the nut for the shackle bolt. guess my guardian angels were looking over me that night.

Jon and Eric, good luck this weekend! and dont let that crooked toes freaks comments bother you, its really not that bad of a deal.
