need help on water pump brackets
hey guys, on my 383 i bought this summer the water pump bracket bolts onto the water pump off of on of the water pump bolts, (doesnt look right to me) the exhaust is 63-64 corvette ram horns, so you have to have the "f" bracket on that, and then the long arm comes up and bolts onto the alt. anyone have pics of somthing like this?

Matt,
What you describe sounds like the setup for the small block car alternator brackets. On the left side, the exhaust manifold has an ear cast into it with threads. The bottom pivot bolt goes through a bracket and screws into the manifold. The adjustment bracket fastens to the water pump bolt on some years or to the intake manifold and to the alternator. Corvettes had a similar setup. My 65 Impala has the setup and it works well. Here is a pic of my Impala, It has the adjusment bracket going to the manifold which has the threaded hole for the bracket. Jim |
