How much can I drop my c10

How much can I drop my 71 c10 without changing my spindles? I want to go as low as possible without much fabrication as my truck only has 59000 miles on it and its my daily driver. Thanks in advance, Mark.

If you are thinking just coils all around I think the max you can buy is 3/5. You could add lowering blocks in the rear to gain a little more than 5". Any more in the front you would need drop spindels also.

I can't tellyea yet but I'm dropping mine as low as it can ......I don't know what stock is but with no work to the front and just bags on my lwb fleetside the tailgate is 13" from the ground when it's open I'm waiting for my plates and bags for the front and am going to do that but plan on cutting my lower a arms for cup and then the X memeber will lay on the ground......right now it's 12" up

so I guess I would like to hear also then measure mine to see how close they are

3inches in front is pushing it, and 4-5 inches in back was pushing it in my case.

If you want to go as low as possible without major fabrication, you should really consider using drop spindles. I think that a 2.5" spindle combined with a 1" drop coil in the front looks well proportioned to 6" rear springs.

In the front, 3 inches is generally as far as you can drop it with a spring and get the alignment back into spec.

In the rear, 6 inches is pretty common with springs only. More than that and you really need a c notch.

In reference to the fellow above who mentioned a 5 inch springs in conjunction with a block. I feel that is not the best way. Basically, rear springs cost the same regardless of the drop. A 5 inch spring cost the same as a 6 incher. It doesn't make sense to buy a spring then lowering block stuff to go that extra inch. You'd be money ahead to just buy the 6 inch spring in the first place.

This is the rule of thumb that I follow as well...
