Body/Frame Swap Question
Can you swap a 1967-1972 cab and bed onto a 1982 frame and suspension? If so, does it involve welding new mounts or can you just swap it over?
1/2 ton to 1/2 ton. 2wd and short bed both. Thanks. |

It's a catastrophic success.

Re: Body/Frame Swap Question
The frames are quite a bit different and would require a fare amount of fabbing ,but you can swap out complete front suspensions with not a lot of trouble. The rear can be inner axled if its a 70 or redrilled to 5 lug if older.

Re: Body/Frame Swap Question
yep, the suspention will fit the old frame, the new frame won't fit the old truck.
If it was a 4X4, it would be doable. |

Re: Body/Frame Swap Question
So do the holes not line up or something? I ask because I have a chance to get a rolling frame that was an 82 6.2 diesel. It has the heavy springs and the high speed rear end. I have been looking for a short bed frame to swap my cab over to and was curious.
