Re: hello & help plz.

Firstly, welcome to a wonderful discussion board.
You might try local salvage yards first. LMC does stock them, but I think I paid close to $300 for one a year or so ago.

Re: hello & help plz.

Hey you should be able to replace the glass without taking the frame out,
all you have to do is yank the window out of the junked truck and put it in
the old frame, you will have to use a block of wood and a hammer to get it
in there cause it's so tight.
FYI 73-80 and 81-87 vent windows are not the same shape.

You should fix the hoodrat problem before you fix the glass though.

Re: hello & help plz.

while i got the glass ordered i went out this morning and cut a cardboard template. then i traced it to some 1/4 in Plexiglas and wow it fits like a glove. It might just stay that way until the one piece windows are done. Now its time to get on the front end of the truck where i originally planed on starting. thanks guys.

Cool looking truck. The way you prefaced it, I expected WAY worse! Looks good though.

Re: hello & help plz.

Check out CL for Poconos PA and if you look under the auto parts section there is a gent who dissembles squares only in Mount Pocono (Cresco) and he will sell you the entire vent window with the frame for $35. I am sure he would ship something that small by sending him a money order.

Re: hello & help plz.

It looks to be in better shape then some Daily drivers I've driven for years at a time..... nice truck.

As far as the glass, price it around. a couple of years ago i got locked out and broke the vent window to get in, & at a local yard around here it cost me about $5 for a new piece of glass.
