anything special about a camper special?

there is a 76 seirra classic camper special for sale close to me that im half interested in, even thou i swore my next truck would be a short box. besides dual tanks and batteries, what else is there about a camper special that makes the special. this one cmae up from california and has a 454 in it. im deciding between this truck and a bone stock 75 step side 6 cyl 4 speed, but in my most hated of all colours, red. i have an 87 longbed i can rob the 350 out of to replace the 6cyl. decisions, decisions. what do you guys think

Re: anything special about a camper special?

Check the load rating, if it is over 6000lbs then it may be a heavy duty emmissions vehicle. That means no catalytic converter, air pump, EGR, etc, etc. That would be a huge PLUS in my book.

The camper special has very heavy duty rear spring packs. They are also 3/4 trucks use 8 lug wheels with a FF 14 bolt rear end.
