one proven way is to turn down your pinion angle. 5 degrees if i remember correctly. Seen a stock sprung S10 runs 12s with the diff set up that way.

Does the truck have an anti-hop shock in it stock? It's a single shock on one side of the rear end that is horizontal and attaches to the frame to prevent wheel hop. I his doesn't, you might want to start scouring junkyards for the shock and frame bracket. The axle bracket should already be on the rear end.
My 03 4.3/5speed 2wd came with one and it helps with wheel hop.

Good shocks, caltracs, and MT drag radials.
Seen plenty of trucks hooking hard on that simple combo, without more than the battery in the bed. What do your 60ft's look like? |

That's not a LOT of hp, but by no means is 480 slow. Lots of good help here. I know of a '90ish 454 S-10 that hooks great! It's a built frame with wide slicks. I'd say tilt the rearend and ladder bars, or tilt rearend and slicks and go from there. When I say slicks, not full blown slicks, more a dot street radial. I just biult a '91 with a LOT of hp. I'll be back halfing mine very soon, it scares the crap outta me!

Get yourself a set of cal tracs. My buddy has a 91 with a smallblock it runs mid tens. He has belltech drop springs and cal tracs and that hooks all day
