Commercial Car haulers and Transport Company

Can anyone reccomend any car haulers or transporters? Anybody used in the past with good or bad experiences?? As much as the road trips are fun, I'm starting to like being home and thinking maybe I should just have my next purchase? delivered.

I used AAA Auto transport for the Chevelle to the left...They were fine. PM me and I might be able to get a #. KCMO to Sacramento CA was about 850.00 2 years ago.

Re: Commercial Car haulers and Transport Company

I shipped my '69 cst about 2 months ago, NJ to CA.

Paid 1,450.00, enclosed trailer, direct ship (no transfer hubs).

I used Uship, seems they broker jobs to truckers to fill in their dead runs.

Go to their website, create an account/shipment and the truckers will place bids. Accept, decline, even negotiate price, pretty neat.

Be sure to check out the company you deal with, insurances, licenses, etc..
You contract with the trucker not Uship so be sure.

This was my first time shipping a vehicle and I was a bit nervous. Overall they did a good job (no damage) and they had a very good price.

My only issue, it was on a 53' semi not a "car hauler" as was first implied. Trailer had a 5' high bed, used 14' ramps to barely load/unload.
If you can live with that I'd recommend them, especially for price.

Re: Commercial Car haulers and Transport Company

I sold a '62 Thunderbird ragtop to a guy in Oregon.
He used Passport Transport, I think, they are in St. Louis, Mo. enclosed trailer. Their driver, truck, and trailer was unbelievably nice. Buyer made arrangments with the driver to make the money/ title transfer with me at the time he loaded the car. Driver had money in hand, I signed title and he hand carried the paper work both ways.
Driver stayed in close contact with me before he got here by phone, and kept the buyer posted on his schedule after he left here with the car, so the buyer knew where his car was and when it would arrive.
I don't know what the charges were, but service was nothing, but helpful and first class.

If he's on the road working, sometimes his computer time can be limited to where he stops & if the area has that WiFi stuff. (I'm not really sure what that is)

Thanks Larry. I was on the road today. St.Louis was beautiful today. That darn arch is still bent? wtf? LOL

I have read your message, and Pm'd you.

Thanks to all for the props. I would much rather help out board members. As they appreciate it more. I like to make people happy delivering to them.

Working up a roadtrip to Arizona soon..........

Where in AZ, & when, if I may ask?

Can't say for certain, but maybe I could kinda mosey down SE of here for a visit.

Got some old friends down Yuma way that need my visitin' real bad, so maybe I could kinda combine things.

Re: Commercial Car haulers and Transport Company

ok guys I'll put this out there maybe it will help somene out or be some useful info for Fine69

the deal with USHIP.com is this (pay attention fine) guys like myself (independants)and alot very large companies are on the move all the time....well for me it works like this ( I am only telling it from what I have done) I set up an account like ebay... this allows me to search for loads going a certian area or zip...I take my motorcycle to Fla around xmas time so I look for something coming back to NH that will fit in my enclosed car trailer.....so lets say I find something from tampa to ny then I would bid on it (like ebay) usually I figure out fuel cost up and back so some one gets a HELL of a deal and trust me I have moved some really NICE stuff and some junk everyone has been thrilled and even some repete customers since I run nh yo Fla every year and they know......now how does Uship make $$ well they get a fee for allowing me to use there service and garentee my $$$ and it is a bit pricy and of course is sucked up by the shipper not the customer....

LOng and short of it ....I use them to move stuff....you just need to talk to the driver (I prefer using the same guy who bid as is going to deliver it) if you get a bad feeling find someone else if the guy sounds kool and maybe has a ride of his own yu can bet he'll take good care of it.....I would and you would cause we love kool rides no matter what flavor they are....it's this guys livelyhood so when your stuff does show up and you see he took good care of it then remember that $$

second and VERY important..I DON'T CARE WHO OR HOW YOU SHIP IT..[B]INSURE IT[B]...even if it's just a cab use the vin # call your ins guy and insure it....poop happens even to good guys it's cheap and IF the shipper gives you any crap about damage you can turn it over to your ins collect a check and walk away and let them fight it......

3rd INSURE IT!! ok I think you may get it now

Yea, i got all that figured out. Great place to find loads. Its is where i find most of mine.
Worst part of Uship is that some people actually want their stuff hauled for FREE!!!!! And with the economy some guys are taking those loads. And cant be making money at them.
I search on there and can't imagine taking some of the loads these guys are doing.

Re: Commercial Car haulers and Transport Company

that is an UNDERSTATEMNET!! so guys are moving stuff and it doesn't even cover the fuel....I can remeber when a buck a mile was a fair # but with the price of tires insurance and fuel it's hard.....I use a 1 ton truck diesal ( notice I left the name out to avoid imbassment but it starts with F) and a 24' enclosed with a ramp door so my options are unlimited to what I can haul...cars/trucks/bikes mostly but on occation I do bed bugs...I also use 10 mpg to figure fuel I get a bit more most of the time but this is a fair #

heres a couple pics 1st is in a rest area in vermont with 5 feet of snow the 2nd is in tampa the next day......notice no snow and it's clean....oh and less than 24 hours apart 1410 miles and one drop off of 2 motorcycles

Re: Commercial Car haulers and Transport Company

joe unless they are a big company good luck??? most car haulers are small maybe 1 or 2 trucks where are they out of?? you maybe able to search there..if you plan to use them ask for referances from past customers ..names and phone #'s....I have no problems with doing that and most of my customers don't either...

Re: Commercial Car haulers and Transport Company

Well I hired Allegiance Auto to haul my burb for me. Thanks for the referrals, but many of them I called were busy. I already put the down payment down and they told me yesterday that they might be able to pick it up today--it didn't happen. I'm hoping and praying they will pick it up on Monday. I called the owner of the burb and he got his money today so everything is good on his end.
Thanks for the help and I'll let you know what I think of Allegiance Auto after they deliver the burb.
