Axle=Fuel
So i have a half ton leaf axle from my old 70 GMC and on my current 68 GMC is a 3/4 ton with leaf but my current is a 3.55:1 or technically 3.54:1 and I want to save gas but I don't have the 6 lug front equipment so what I am wondering is would it work and would it be feasible?

I'm confused.

I guess thats what I am asking, and can I convert a 3/4 ton to a 1/2 ton? will the front spindles from a 1/2 ton work on a 3/4 ton?
