70 Chevelle hood scoop with flapper on a 68 hood
I am wanting to buy a chevelle ss cowl hood with flapper door, cut the cowl out and mount it on my 68 truck hood. I also want it to be functional. When it gets done I think it will look really good. Also it will have many second looks. Any info on this will be of great help as I am no body man.

Lewis, That isn't a project for a person thats "no body man"-So, Id suggest that you find someone who could do the work and get a price before you proceed- You could easily have a grand in the hood- (parts and labor) Not saying that you shouldnt do it, just find out first> HTH

1:Take off your truck hood 2: buy a Functional Cowl Chevelle hood and parts 3: Take it all to a Body guy 4:Write him a check when you are done. I don't know any way to get it done for a grand, you will have half that in parts. Chevelle parts are stupid expensive, even for repop....That's why I build Trucks now. |

Good luck finding a functional cowl for less than grand.

I'm not sure if it would work, but you might could purchase a cowl hood for your truck and just try to out-source the vacuum operated mechanism. Then all you would have to do is cut a flapper in the cowl and mount it up..? Could it work?

Sounds like the best option, and cheapest.
